Types of Pool Cracks We Repair

Not all pool cracks are the same. Before recommending a repair, we assess the crack type, depth and underlying cause to ensure the repair is permanent.

• Hairline surface cracks: Fine cracks in the paint or plaster surface. Can be filled and sealed as part of the resurfacing prep process.
• Structural cracks: Cracks that go through the concrete shell. Require hydraulic cement or epoxy injection before resurfacing. Left unrepaired, these will cause water loss and progressively worsen.
• Fibreglass blisters and delamination: Moisture-driven blisters beneath the gelcoat layer. Require specialist grinding and relamination before any paint is applied.
• Coping and bond beam cracks: Cracks in the coping or upper pool wall. Can allow ground movement to continue if left untreated.

Our Pool Crack Repair Process

• Free site assessment: We inspect all cracks, test for water loss and give a clear written quote.
• Drain & expose: Pool drained, surface pressure washed and cracks opened up to identify full extent.
• Crack repair: Filled with hydraulic cement, polyurethane or epoxy injection depending on crack type and location.
• Surface preparation: Acid wash and sanding to prepare for coating adhesion.
• Resurfacing: LuxaPool epoxy applied over the repaired surface. Crack repair is always integrated into our resurfacing service — we don't do one without the other.

Should I Repair or Fully Resurface?

If your pool has cracks, it almost certainly needs resurfacing as well — because the existing surface is at a point where it can no longer be maintained with spot repairs alone. A full resurface that includes crack repair gives you a fresh start with a 5–10 year finish.

Minor crack repair integrated into a full resurface is included in our standard pricing — starting from $4,000 for a complete 2-coat epoxy resurface. For heavily damaged pools or structural crack repair as a standalone service, we quote individually after a site assessment.
